10 compounds for flouters

KUCHING: Police have issued a total of 10 compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said nine compounds were issued in Kuching and one in Miri.

Apart from that, the Ministry of Local Government issued 128 verbal, written, and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils.

On SOP compliance monitoring, patrol teams have inspected 1,442 premises throughout Sarawak.

These include 269 restaurants, supermarkets (181), banks (128), public markets (57), places of worship (48), government offices (48), leisure places (31), hawker stalls (22), construction sites (13), nine factories, and others (636).

Under Ops Benteng, a total of 1,149 vehicles were inspected through seven roadblocks in six districts — two in Lawas, and one each in Lundu, Bau, Serian, Sri Aman, and Lubok Antu.
