100 receive food baskets from BDA

BINTULU: A total of 100 asnafs around Kampung Jepak received food baskets from the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) yesterday.

Present to hand over the aid at Masjid Darul Makmur, Kampung Jepak here was Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) and Jepak assemblyman Datuk Talib Zulpilip.

However, in order to comply with the physical distancing, the food baskets were only delivered to 22 recipients while another 78 food baskets will be sent directly to the homes of the identified recipients.

The list of recipients was obtained from the Bintulu Baitulmal and the community leaders of Kampung Jepak.

In addition to donating food baskets to the needy, the BDA also made various contributions during this pandemic period.

Among them, logistical assistance, equipment for roadblocks, personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontliners, washing machines, laptops for use at vaccination centres and Low-Risk Treatment Centres (PKRC), sanitation works and others related to the fight against Covid-19 in Bintulu.

Also present were BDA deputy chairman Haidar Khan Asghar Khan, BDA Corporate Division assistant general manager Hasiah Morshidi and Penghulu Drahman Kawi.
