KUCHING: A total of 101 recipients were conferred state awards and medals by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud in an investiture ceremony at the Dewan Besar Astana Negeri here yesterday.
The ceremony commenced with the conferment of the Darjah Johan Bintang Sarawak (JBS) on Bukit Goram state assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat followed by the Darjah Johan Bintang Kenyalang (JBK) on Daro state assemblyman Safiee Ahmad as well as Sarawak Bumiputera Teachers’ Union (KGBS) president and Congress of Unions of Employees in Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) Sarawak chairman Ahmad Malie.
Felicia Tan Ya Hua, Indit Bangai, Abdullah Julaihi and Nixon Kennedy Kumbong were the four recipients of the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC).
There were three recipients of the Darjah Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) and six recipients of the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK).
The Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB) and Darjah Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS) had 30 and 21 recipients respectively.
The ceremony ended after the conferment of the Darjah Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) on 15 recipients and Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) on 19 recipients.
Also present were Taib’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib, Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) mayor Datuk Junaidi Reduan and other dignitaries.
