MARUDI: Eleven people suspected of being involved in a cock-fighting activity were arrested by police yesterday.
Baram District Police chief, DSP Gabriel Risut said acting on information received, a police team from Beluru Police Station led by ASP Mohd Ruslan Mat Kib raided a cock-fighting pit in Beluru Bakong at around 2.00pm.
“Besides the arrests, the police also seized eight live and one dead roosters, a loud speaker, blackboard, weighing machine and a cock-fighting spur,” he said in a statement here.
