KUCHING: A total of 11 compounds were issued by the police to those who failed to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for public places under the recovery movement control order (RMCO).

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the police would to continue monitoring and enforcing the SOPs including the use of face masks and social distancing in public places.

“Kuching recorded the most with seven compounds issued, followed by Kota Samarahan with two.

“One compound each was to issue errant individuals in Padawan and Betong,” the statement read.

On the SOP compliance monitoring, the patrol teams have inspected 1,787 premises throughout Sarawak.

These include 341 restaurants, supermarkets (226), banks (125), places of worship (88), public markets (86), government offices (53), leisure places (49), construction sites (28), factories (20), hawker stalls (16) and others (755).

The committee also informed that 1,247 vehicles were inspected in six Ops Benteng roadblocks in five districts — two in Lundu with one each in Bau, Serian, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu.
