KUCHING: Police arrested 11 men believed to be involved in online gambling in an operation yesterday morning.
According to State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief SAC Denis Leong Soon Kuai, the suspects aged 19 to 38 years old, were arrested around 9am.
Acting on information gathered, the raiding team proceeded to conduct the operation at two apartments at Jalan Burung Lilin, Batu Kawa.
“During the raid, police seized five local men and six Indonesians in the apartments.
“They also confiscated 15 computers believed to be used in online gambling,” he said in a statement.
Leong added that the online gambling had been going on for a year.
He added that the suspects’ incomes from the activity were RM50,000 per day.
All suspects are being detained at the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters for further actions.
