PUSA: A total of 11 rural transformation programme (RTP) projects worth RM1.39 million are being and will be implemented in the Beting Maro state constituency this year.

Batang Lupar Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim, who disclosed this, pointed out the projects included building a parking lot and toilet at Medan Selera Tanjung Pasir in Pusa (RM300,000); building a garbage collection centre and related work in Pusa district (RM200,000); upgrading Kampung Batang Maro Women’s group building (RM110,000); building drains in Kampung Kalok at Dato Godam and Kampung Lot with the cost of RM450,000.

“Besides that, the state government will also upgrade Kampung Semarang Women’s group building and hall worth RM75,000 and RM50,000 respectively; building drains at Rumah Kam Blok (RM100,000) as well as buiding a parking area at Rumah Pagu Meregang and Rumah Kenarang costing RM50,000 each,” she said in at an event held at Dewan Masyarakat Kalok here today.

In this regard, Rohani, who is also Special Advisor to the Chief Minister, hoped that all the projects could be completed by the end of this year.

Apart from that, she also suggested the implementing agencies to hold the opening ceremony as soon as any project is completed as proof that the state government is always sensitive to the needs of the people in rural areas.

“With such an event, certain parties can no longer accuse us (state government) of not doing any development for the people,” she pointed out.

With all these people-friendly projects that have been implemented, there is no more reason for the people not to support the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the next state election.
