113 receive state awards from Taib

Taib, Raghad and other dignitaries with recipients of the state awards after the investiture ceremony at the Astana Negeri, Kuching.

KUCHING: A total of 113 persons were awarded state awards and medals by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud during an investiture ceremony at the Astana Negeri here on Wednesday (Jan 26).

Leading the list of recipients were Kapit Resident Nyurak Keti and senior director (Management) of the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department, Boniface Edwin Manung. Both received the Outstanding Service Medal, Pingat Perhidmatan Cemerlang (P.P.C).

Seven persons received the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S). They are  Dr. Lai Huat Choi, Mujah Lihan, Abin Galeh, Lomas William Aten, Ranit Rujah, Jay Keram and Arpah Adenan.

The Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K) was presented to 13 persons, 18 received the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S), and 16 persons received the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K) award while the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S) was presented to 16 recipients.

Twenty-five civil servants received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B) for excellent service and 16 others received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T).

Also present at the investiture were Taib’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib and other dignitaries.
