PADAWAN: Twelve individuals were compounded by Padawan police for violating the conditional movement control order (CMCO) over two days.

Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the flouters comprised 11 males and a female.

“Five compounds were issued on May 26, whereas seven on May 27, for offences under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) (No 6) Regulations 2020.

“All twelve suspects were found violating the CMCO at Kota Sentosa, Mile 17, Mile 18 and MJC, Batu Kawa here,” he said in a statement today.

Aidil added that all of them failed to provide valid reasons as well as show their inter-district travel permits.

He also said that the police would not compromise with anyone violating the CMCO.

Aidil urged the public to be more responsible and cooperative in preventing the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

“Without a sense of responsibility in ourselves, it is impossible for us to decide whether the spread of the epidemic as well as the movement control order (MCO) or CMCO will continue,” he said.
