KUCHING: The Bukit Semuja constituency continues to get development projects from the Sarawak government.
Among the 12 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects worth RM1.3mil are the construction of new agricultural roads, upgrading and paving of agricultural roads and building of concrete ditches.
This is on top of continuing the project to expand and deepen the drainage system. Besides that, concrete ditches will be built in the villages, the local playground will be upgraded and a ditch will be built at SK Tebakang.
The 12 projects are expected to be completed within four months.
Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus said more than 30 RTP projects were implemented last year involving various agencies such as the Public Works Department, Serian District Council and Department of Irrigation and Drainage.
Meanwhile, he reminded the contractors to implement the project according to the time period and work specifications set.
“I also request the villagers to cooperate with the contractor so that the project can be implemented smoothly without any hurdles.
“I recommend that the village head appoint an observer or project supervisor in order to monitor the work done by the contractor.”
He also hoped that all projects that had been, and would be, implemented be maintained for the benefit the villagers.
