BINTULU: In view of the importance of food handling skills and knowledge, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development organised a two-day training programme on October 14 and 15 in Tatau.
A total of 120 people in the food handling business took part in the programme which was held in four sessions.
Each session is only attended by 30 people and strictly followed the standard operating procedures (SOP) such as wearing face masks and practising social distance.
The instructors of the course are from Sedamai Learning Centre here.
According to a representative from the ministry , Norulhardi Ismailly Yakub, the programme was held to assist entrepreneurs, especially in food and beverage entrepreneurs, to obtain a certificate recognised by the Health Ministry.
He said that the programme held in Tatau is the seventh series after Kapit, Bekenu, Selangau, Julau, Kanowit, and Sebauh.
Seven more series will be held in other districts.
