KUCHING: An evening of laugher and delighted shrieks filled the hall of Rumah Kanak Kanak Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah at 12th Mile Kuching-Serian Road near here as the children were given a special Hari Raya buffet dinner on Friday night.

The event was jointly organised by the Heritage Society of Rajah Charles Brooke Memorial Hospital (HSoRCBMH) and Kelab Majlis Perbandaran Padawan (KMPP).

The event was grace by Batu Kitang Assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang who is also the Honorary Patron of HSoRCBMH as well as Chairman of Padawan Municipal Council.

Some 120 guests attended the dinner which started at 6pm comprising 62 children of the home, 21 of the home staffers, four Padawan Municipal Council councillors and some members of HSoRCBMH and KMPP.

The children were given ‘duit raya’ from Lo himself and also bags full of goodies sponsored by Borneo Biscuits Sdn Bhd and Pico Food Industries Sdn Bhd.

F & N Beverages Marketing and Nestle Sdn Bhd were also the sponsors to make the event a success.

In his speech, Lo hoped that the children would strive harder to succeed and become loyal citizens.

In the spirit of love and joy, games were organised for all present.

All teams were winners and each team ended the evening with a hamper, sponsored by various individuals and donors.

President of Heritage Society of RCBM Hospital said it was through the event that they shared with everyone the joy of not only receiving but also the beauty of giving.
