
LIMBANG: A total of 120 flood victims from nine villages here are currently taking shelter at four out of five temporary evacuation centres (PPS) as of 2.35pm today (Saturday).
According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre (PGO), five PPS were set up today (May 22) in Limbang district after several villages were flooded following heavy rain that occurred on Friday.
The PPS at Dewan Masyarakat Medamit is currently accommodating 29 victims; Dewan Kampung Ukong (25 victims); Dewan Buluh Balui (20 victims); and Bidang Multipurpose Hall (46).
The victims comprise 60 adults, 39 children, two infants;17 senior citizens and two persons with disabilities (OKU) from nine villages — Kampung Ukong, Kampung Induk Sangkar, Kampung Pangkalan Madang,Kampung Pengakalan Jawa,Kampung Ranggu,Kampung Bidang, and Kampung Batu Danau.
Meanwhile, PPS SK Menuang is currently being set up.
