“SCA proposes that the selection of state riders for the upcoming Suksar and Sukma 2020 and other state and national level races emulate the point system,

“SCA is positive the point system may show or reveal continuous performance of every rider. It is only fair for the riders to be tested in fewer races before a selection race to represent the state.

“The point system will also give fair chance to the riders to participate in most races and not restricted to some,” he said during a press conference at Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre, yesterday.

Meanwhile, most of the registered riders were from cycling clubs in Sarawak, based mostly in Kuching, Samarahan and Miri.

A few riders from Singkawang and West Kalimantan, Indonesia also took part in the race.

“The race event series 1 will be the benchmark and stepping stone to a series of upcoming races scheduled in SCA’s 2019 cycling calendar which incorporates the point systems as the key performance index to measure the performances and competencies of our development riders and scout for new talents in all categories and age groups,” he said.
