MIRI: It was a wet day for a run, but it didn’t stop 1,220 runners from taking part in the 6th edition of ‘Larian Bersama Bomba’ at the Marina Central Park on Sunday morning.

The runners braved the rain to take part in the run, which aimed to help raise fund for Miri Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities (POKUFM).

The run, a join event by Zone 6 Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) with Bulatan Runners Club features 12km run and fun run of 5km.

The 12km race was flagged off by Minister of Transport Sarawak Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin at 6.30am, while the fun run of 5km began one hour later.

Lee, in his opening remarks during the event, was happy with the turnout

“This year, after a two-year gap due to COVID-19 restriction, we managed to organise this run for charity…the last one was back in 2019,” he said.

He hoped that the public would continue to give their support as it is also a platform to promote Miri city and a healthy life.
