SEBUYAU: A group of 127 students from the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FACA) at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) recently took part in the UNIMAS Merami Beduruk Programme in Kampung Sebuyau.

The program, which lasted two days starting from Friday was officially opened by the Minister of Utility and Telecommunication, Datuk Julaihi Narawi last Saturday.

During the event, the Sebuyau assemblyman thanked the university for choosing Sebuyau as the location for the SULAM activity, which stands for ‘Service Learning Centre-University For Society.’

This activity focuses on community service-oriented teaching and learning.

“I hope that through direct involvement with the local community, the objectives of SULAM can be achieved. This will indirectly improve students’ social and interpersonal skills,” Julaihi said.

The Programme Advisor of FACA, Sharizam Hamzah, and the Sebuyau district officer, Ayuradiman Bujang, were also present at the event.
