13 deaths between Oct 11 and Oct 16

KUCHING: The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) today (Oct 17) reported 13 new Covid-19 fatalities in the state between Oct 11 and Oct 16.

On Oct 11, one death was recorded in the Sibu district. A 90-year-old man with a history of high blood pressure was brought-in-dead (BID) to the Sibu Hospital.

Five fatalities were recorded on Oct 12. Of the three death cases in Sri Aman, one was an 80-year-old woman brought-in-dead to the Sri Aman Hospital while one was a 92-year-old woman and another, a 77-year-old man who passed away at the Sri Aman Hospital. Both cases had comorbidities.

Meanwhile, two other fatalities were recorded in Sibu, involving a 79-year-old man with comorbidities and a 78-year-old man, who required constant assistance in his daily activities.

On Oct 13, the SDMC also reported two fatalities in Kuching; one was a BID case of a 49-year-old man whose body was brought to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) while the other death was of an 89-year-old woman, also at the hospital. The man had a history of comorbidities while the woman required constant assistance in her daily activities.

Another death recorded in Sibu on the same day was that of a 55-year-old woman who had a medical history of asthma and cancer.

Three more fatalities were recorded on Oct 14, involving a 58-year-old man at the Limbang Hospital; an 81-year-old man at the Lawas Hospital and a 76-year-old woman at the Simunjan Hospital. All cases had a history of comorbidities.

Another death was recorded in Kuching on Oct 16, involving a 67-year-old woman. She passed away at the SGH and had high blood pressure and diabetes.
