KUCHING: A total of 13 compounds have been issued to errant individuals who failed to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement, said the police will continue to monitor and enforce the SOPs including the use of face masks and social distancing in public places.

“Kuching recorded the most compounds issued with 12 and one compound issued in Betong. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Local Government issued 100 verbal, written, and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils,” the committee said.

On the SOP compliance monitoring, patrol teams have inspected 1,327 premises throughout Sarawak.

These include 258 restaurants, supermarkets (221), banks (94), places of worship (73), public markets (72), leisure places (42), hawker stalls (37), government offices (35), factories (22), construction sites (12), and others (461).

Under ‘Ops Benteng’, SDMC said a total of 983 vehicles were inspected at six roadblocks in five districts – two in Lundu and one each in Bau, Serian, Sri Aman, and Lubok Antu.
