KUCHING: A total of 130 individuals in Kota Samarahan who are under the quarantine order (QO) since last week were given assistance in terms of food.
Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang said the individuals were believed to be close contacts of Covid-19 patients from Kampung Tanah Putih, Kota Samarahan.
“I urge the people of Kota Samarahan to continue to adhere to the directives of the authorities, especially the Samarahan Division Health Office (DHO),” she said on Tuesday (Mar 2).
Earlier, her representative from the constituency’s service centre presented the food aid to the residents through the Kampung Tanah Putih community leader Kechil Hasan.
Recently, the Samarahan DHO had urged the public to avoid any social gatherings as many Covid-19 cases have stemmed from these events.
The gatherings also caused limitations in terms of observing the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines by the health authorities.
Meanwhile, Rubiah also advised her constituents to register for the vaccination.
“This can be done through the MySejahtera application or any nearby health clinics or district office,” she said.
She added that the immunisation programme will only be effective if it garners the participation of the public.
