15 children of NSJA members get education incentives

MIRI: Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) will be distributing its yearly members’ children education incentives on Jan 23.

NSJA president Andy Jong Wan Joon said 15 recipients who excelled in their academic and co-curricular activities in 2020 would be receiving the incentives.

It was originally scheduled to be awarded in  2021, but due to the situation of the pandemic then, it was delayed until this year, explained Jong during a cheque ceremony on Thursday (Jan 20).

“We hope that ith this incentive, our children will continue to work hard in their studies, especially during this trying time.

“This is the fifth time that we are giving the incentives to the children, from kindergarten up to tertiary level.”

For the academic category, the recipients are Yoyo Ling Le Yi, Chai Koh Jun, Chai Koh Vui, Abraham Nading Kandau, Violet Tania Ucha Roger, Wong Jia Hui, Lenny Lo Zi Hung, Chyrra Haren Desmond, Dellpiero Desmond, Chellsea Lahei Desmond and Bryan Boon Wui Hung.

For the co-curricular category, the recipients are Terrance Tan Wei Jie, Tia Leonorra Puyang Romi Chai, Chai Koh Vui and Wong Jia Hui.

Also present at the ceremony was Assistant Minister of Tourism and NSJA patron Datuk Sebastian Ting.
