KAPIT: Some 150 staff from various agencies at the Kapit Federal Complex have received their second booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at the Gunasama Conference Room here yesterday.

According to a medical officer from the Kapit Division Health Department Dr Karthikeyan Mahesan, the recipients also comprised family members and health officers.

Dr Karthikeyan added that the department was also actively carrying out vaccination campaigns at the villages and rural areas around Kapit since early January this year.

“Starting from this week, we are bringing the Pfizer vaccines through our Rajang Mobile Clinic and the villagers’ medical officers to encourage the people to get their second booster shots,” he said.

The programme began since Tuesday at the selected health clinics and among them are in Kapit, Song, Sungai Asap and Belaga by just walk-ins without any appointment.

The public can contact Dr Karthikeyan at 084-796477 during office hours only.

Similarly, the Kapit Hospital has also been giving the second booster shot vaccines since January 9.
