152 residential houses will be built under the Village Extension Scheme (SPK) near Kampung Melayu, in Saratok.
Dr Annuar Rapaee (GPS-Nangka) said the Urban and Development and Natural Resources Ministry, through the Land and Survey Department, has set up the scheme, namely Kampung Melango Extension Scheme, and Kampung Hulu Saratok Phase One Extension Scheme.
“80 housing lots will be built under the Kampung Melango Extension Scheme, and 72 under the Kampung Hulu Saratok Phase One Extension Scheme respectively,” he said during the assembly sitting.
Annuar was replying to a question by Datuk Abdul Wahab Aziz (GPS-Kalaka) on whether there will be plans to have a housing development area in Kampung Melayu.
“39 lots have been distributed for Kampung Hulu Saratok Phase One, while the distribution process for the remaining 33 lots is being carried out and expected to be finalised sometime this year,” he said.
While the suggestion for Kupang Village Extension Scheme, situated not far from Saratok, and expected to provide 134 housing lots has been submitted under the 11th Malaysia Plan, has not been approved.
“This scheme therefore will be redrafted for implementation under the 12th Malaysia Plan,” said Annuar.
