KUCHING: Police arrested 17 individuals statewide for defying the movement control order (MCO) from 8am on Saturday to 8am yesterday.

State police commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail said Padawan recorded the most arrest with six offenders.

“This was followed by Kuching with five arrests, Limbang (three), and one each in Miri, Betong and Lubok Antu,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The latest figure brings the tally of arrests made throughout Sarawak to 2,004 since March 18.

All offenders were detained under Section 186 of the Penal Code and Regulation 7(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within The Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2020.
