17 places of worship receive contributions

BALINGIAN:  Seventeen places of worship yesterday received contributions from State Legislative Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar.

Among these were three mosques that received RM10,000 each. Fourteen surau received RM5,000 each.

These recipients included Masjid Nur Iman of Kpg Kuala Balingian, Masjid Tuanku Haji Bujang of Kpg Masjid Balingian, and Masjid Darul Taqwa of Balingian, Surau Darul Iman of Kpg Tutus Ulu Mukah, Surau Nur Iman of Kg Lintang Balingian, Surau Darul Nadwah of Kpg Tutus Hilir Mukah, Surau Darul Ansar of Kpg Penipah Mukah, Surau Darul Muttaqin of  Kpg Litong Mukah, Surau Darul Huda of Kpg Tanjong Mukah, Surau Sheikh Sulaiman of Kpg Jebungan Mukah, Surau Al-Muhajirin of Kpg Tabo Mukah, Surau Darul Ibadah of Kpg Sg Alo Mukah,  Surau Islam of Kpg Pulat Balingian, Surau Darul Islam of Kpg Penakub Ulu Mukah, Surau An Nur of Kpg Teh Mukah, Surau Al-Hidayah of Kpg Mateding Kecil Mukah and Surau Darul Makmur of  Kpg Bunut Mukah.

The mosques and suraus that received the assistance at a ceremony held at  Masjid Darul Taqwa here were from the Balingian state constituency.

In his welcoming speech at the event, Balingian state assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi  thanked the speaker for the contributions and urged the recipients to use them wisely for the relevant activities of the mosques  or surau.

Also at the function were political secretary to the Chief Minister Kenil Jeraie, Mukah District Officer Shafrie Saili, SAO Nolin Gendang from Mukah Resident Office, Balingian Sub-district administrative officer SAO Penny Narawi, religious and local community leaders.
