
SIBU: A total of 180 participants from all over Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia have completed the ‘Be A Running Champ’ 2022 Sarawak workshop here.
Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) chairman Clarence Ting said that the organising of the workshop could improve the knowledge of the participant on running activities.
“It is a big challenge for sportsmen to avoid any injuries during sports. Therefore, I welcome the holding of this workshop conducted by certified trainers, they will teach how to organise running activities well,” he said.
He said this in his speech during the flag-off ceremony of the running training session at Tun Ahmad Zaidi Stadium here yesterday (Nov 27).
The workshop from Nov 26 to 27 was organised by Sibu Underground Runners together with Plux Sports Recreation Club with the support of Business Event Sarawak and Tribe Legacy Sarawak.
The workshop was divided into four sessions conducted by three speakers namely chief executive officer of Sarawak Grit Event Management – Event Preparation, Awang Saifeluddin, national marathon runner Muhaizar Mohammad and sports nutrition expert Dr Noor Kamsina Aziz.
Among the things highlighted are injury management and prevention, proper stretching, proper form and technique, nutrition and supplementation, drills for flexibility and mobility, stamina and endurance, and others.
