MIRI: A total of 185 children scouts converged at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pujut Corner for three consecutive days since Friday to attend the merit ‘Keris Gangsa’(Bronze Dagger badge) Miri Division Scout camping programme.

The closing ceremony today afternoon was officiated by Miri Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang, who is also Pujut assemblyman.

Yii in his opening remarks, lauded Miri Scouts Council for organising such outdoor activities that helped the young scouts to gain a positive sense of self-worth and apply their creativity and skills.

He pledged a grant amounting to RM5, 000 in support of the programme.

Meanwhile, according to Miri Scouts Council chairperson, Caroline Siburat, a total of four merit badges were offered to young scouts who did well in their outdoor activities during the programme.

These badges are Scout Cyclist badge; Scouts Entertainer Badge; Scouts Artist Badge and the Scouts Dagger Badge.
