KUCHING: Nineteen junior potentials from Kuching Taekwondo & Self-Defence Club (WTF) here have been chosen to represent the state in the Karnival Bakat Kebangsaan Melaka Siri 02/2024 Taekwondo (WTF) event.
Coach Tan Cheng Qiang said their club’s athletes would be led by himself, with assistance from coach Eimran Ghaffary Mohamad Daud.
“Our team will join other selected Sarawak athletes and coaches from divisions Sibu, Miri, and Lawas at Dewan Tun Ali, Bukit Katil, Melaka for this national event hosted by the Melaka State Sports Council (MSSC) and supported by the National Sports Council of Malaysia (MSN) from May 23 to 26.
“We are prepared and ready to fight. I hope that our junior players try to put up a good challenge against their opponents from across the country in the national games,” he said in a press statement.
The selected athletes are Hugh Teng Chen Hang, Daniel Kon Cheng Hee, Liew Yuan Song, Emir Rayyan Zefni Abdullah, Calvin Lester Lim Teck Shen, Edison Phang Keng Kai, Constantine Rodau Chua Daniel Roy, Jay Nathan Nickson Keli, Benedict Alfonius Tan, Muhammad Rayyan Ziqri Muhammad Fiqri, Maisarah Azzahra Arzlan, Maeve Chung Yi Yan, Elvie Wong Xuan Xuan, Zara Qistina Muhammad Fiqri, Clement Law Mien Mua, Eileen Chang Li Ching, Jong Thian Fatt, Pretty Amisha Amanda Francesca and AJ Ong Yang Yi.
