19 NGOs get federal grants from Tiong

SIBU: Nineteen non-governmental organisations received federal grants here on yesterday.

The grants made available through Bintulu MP and Dudong assemblyman Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing at the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Dudong Service Centre in Jalan Aman.

Chairman of PDP Dudong Branch Teo Boon Siew and youth chief of PDP Bawang Assan Joshua Ting were in attendance to distribute the funds ranging from RM5,000 to RM100,000.

Heading the list of recipients were Association for Children with Special Needs Sibu which obtained RM100,000, Rumah Seri Kenangan Sibu, Masjid Al Anshar, Tempat Transit Gelandangan Sibu, Persatuan Komuniti Durin Sibu and PIBG SMK Chung Cheng were each allocated RM50,000.

The other recipients were PIBG SJK (C) Sang Ming (RM35,000), Pertubuhan Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti Sibu (RM35,000), KRT Sg Empawah (RM30,000), SJK (C) Kiew Nang (RM20,000), SJK Hing Ung (RM20,000), Kelab Kebajikan Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Sibu (RM10,000), Persatuan Persahabatan Zong Ho Mukah (RM10,000), PIBG SK Bandaran No 2 (RM10,000), JKKK Rh Jenny Ak Edwin Yap (RM10,000), JKKK Rh Udin Ak Nasat (RM10,000) and Sibu Autistic Association (RM10,000).

Persatuan Penganut Da Wang Gong Sg Nibong Sibu and Persatuan Klan Chen (Ling Chuan) Bhg Sibu Youth Section were each presented with a grant of RM5,000.

In his address at a handing over of grants, Teo reminded the beneficiaries to utilise the funds properly.
Chairman of PDP Central Zone Dato Lau Cheng Kiong was among those present to witness the handing over of grants.
