SIBU: As many as 19,345 people in the district here have completed two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine as of June 13.

Sibu Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) coordinator Dr Annuar Rapaee added that 24,444 people had received their first dose.

He said that several measures would be taken to further intensify the immunisation programme in the district.

“Among them is the setting of an industrial vaccination centre (PPV) for workers and their families so that they can be vaccinated,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday (June 14).

Dr Annuar added another step was to increase the mobile teams for the vaccination.

“Apart from that, the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKKs) and community leaders (tuai rumah) will be brought in to assist in the vaccination programme,” he said.

Dr Annuar pointed out that the PPV at the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) camp was open for the public to get their jabs.
