20 high achievers rewarded

SIBU: A total of 183 members of Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) Sibu Branch attended its 25th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Tanahmas Hotel here last weekend.

At the meeting, the association’s activities and financial reports of 2016 were presented to its members.

SIDS Sibu chairperson, Dato Alice Jawan in her speech stressed the importance of unity among the members and to uphold the objectives which included preserving Dayak culture and promoting education among the members and community.

Twenty children of the association’s members who excelled in their public examinations were rewarded with cash for their achievements. These students are those who excelled in their PT3 (8 students), SPM (6) and six STPM students.

SIDS Sibu Branch continues to be led by Dato Alice Jawan (SIDS Sibu chairperson), Angelyn Uchi Maseng (SIDS Sibu vice-chairperson), Michelle Anthony (secretary), Claudia Deo (assistant secretary), Monica Giri (treasurer) and Mundun Undau (assistant treasurer).
