200 SMK St Joseph’s students given awards

MIRI: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) St Joseph Miri this morning awarded a total 200 of its Form Five students for their various achievements during an appreciation ceremony.

The event was graced by Minister for Transport Sarawak Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin.

Also in attendance were the school’s principal Peter Use Lenjau, the school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) chairman Mathew Silek, representatives from Curtin University Malaysia Sarawak and IBS College Miri.

Lee also presented ‘Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin’s highest special award to 17 year-old Kimberly Phang Zi Xuan.

Kimberly Phang is the daughter of Cr Jeferry Phang.

In his opening remarks at the event, Lee reminded students to do their best in the upcoming Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).

“Good results determine the success of your future because it affects your work, family and yourself,” he said.
He also announced allocation worth at RM15,000 to the school’s PTA plus RM5,000 for organising the event.
