20,000 litres of diesel, petrol seized

BINTULU: Miri General Operations Force (GOF) on Monday seized a total of 20,000 litres of diesel and petrol worth RM52,840 in a raid on a house at KM21 Bintulu-Miri road.

According to Battalion 12 commanding officer, Supt Tan Hiap Seng, five officers checked the house around 12pm and found the fuel. Also seized were four fuel pumps.

“There is no valid permit or document from the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) for the fuel,” said Tan.

The house caretaker had fled upon realising that the police were coming. The case is being investigated under Section 20(1) of the Supply Control Act 1961.
