20,000 silver barb babies released

MIRI: Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah this morning released 20,000 silver barb babies (Ikan Lampan) into the Niah River.

The event was part of State-Level Women Day’s celebration to be held here on March 8. This year, Miri will host the celebration.

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Abang Johari Tun Openg is scheduled to officiate at the event.

Also present during the releasing of the silver barb babies were Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni, and two of Fatimah’s deputy ministers, Datuk Rosey Yunus and Mohamad Razi Sitam.
