MUKAH: National Farmers Organisation (Nafas) distributed tithe totalling RM30,900 to 206 less fortunate people here and in Balingian on Thursday. The recipients who are also members of Mukah Area Farmers Organisation (PPKM) each received RM150. Mukah PPK chairman Manuchir Smith said they were selected based on information provided by Mukah Division Welfare Department.
“The annual aid is from Nafas,” he said at a simple handing over ceremony at a surau in Kampung Sungai Alo here.
He and PPKM general manager Pakasa Agat took turns to give away the tithe during the presentation ceremony held at two separate locations. Manuchir handed over the aid to one group at a surau in Kampung Sungai Alo, while Pakasa presented it to another group at Masjid Jamek here.
