MIRI: Twenty-three finalists of the Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 beauty pageant visited several locations in the city yesterday to familiarise themselves in connection with the “Miss Grand Malaysia” final to be held at Meritz Hotel here on Sunday (April 28).
The finalists were led to Miri Heritage Centre yesterday morning where they were exposed to the local culture including eating local delicacies.
During the one-hour visit at the centre, they also took time to learn about Sarawak and its people. The finalists were also introduced to sago worms, a popular delicacy of the Melanau community.
Of the 23 finalists, 11 are from Sarawak while the rest are from Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah.
The finalists then proceeded to Miri Times Square where they went to several shops in the area.
They also unveiled the Miri Times Square signage.
The Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 is presented by Nur Sajat Aesthetics.
Cash prizes worth of RM200,000 await the top three winners and subsidiary title winners including Miss Social Media, Best in Evening Gown, Best in Swimwear and Miss Popular Vote.
The pageant’s main sponsors are Clarel’s Malaysia, NuFinity White and Borneo MediSpa.
