KUCHING: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) has collected 23,620kg tons of waste so far during its cleaning and waste collection works in several villages affected by the floods recently.
DBKU in collaboration with Trienekens and assisted by the villagers since Jan 16.
The villages affected are Kampung Bintawa Hilir, Kampung Bintawa Ulu, Kampung Bintawa Tengah, Kampung Pulo Ulu, Kampung Pulo Hilir, Kampung Panglima Seman, Kampung Semarang, Kampung Tunku, Kampung Tupong Tengah, Kampung Gita, Kampung Tupong Batu, Kampung Sinjan, Kampung Sg Bedil, Kampung Lintang, Kampung Patinggan and Kampung Kudei.
“To date, 13 roro (roll-on roll-off) units have been used for garbage collection works which is equivalent to 23, 620kg tons of garbage,” DBKU said in a statement today (Jan 25).
