24 compound issued to errant individuals

KUCHING: Police have issued a total of 24 compounds to individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedure (SOPs) in public places.

“Kuching recorded the most with 17 compounds, followed by Kota Samarahan with three.

“Two compounds were issued in Padawan, and one compound each was issued to errant individuals in Sarikei and Betong,” said Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

Apart from that, police have also taken to task two individuals£­a Pakistani and a business premises caretaker in Mile 7, Kota Sentosa ­for failing to comply with business premises SOP.

On the SOP compliance monitoring, patrol teams have inspected 1,754 premises throughout Sarawak.

These include 347 restaurants, supermarkets (209), banks (127), public markets (92), places of worship (86), leisure places (58), government offices (53), hawker stalls (31), construction sites (29), factories (14), and others (708).

SDMC also said 1,594 vehicles were inspected in six “Ops Benteng” roadblocks in five districts — two in Lundu with one each in Bau, Serian, Sri Aman, and Lubok Antu.
