SELANGAU: The residents of 10 longhouses in Jalan Sungai Arang and Tanjong Taroh can now heave a sigh of relief as they now get to enjoy a 24-hour electricity supply.

Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) reported that previously, the residents only depended on generators or diesel electricity generators.

In this regard, the people in Jalan Sungai Arang and Tanjong Taroh showed their gratitude to the Sarawak goverment under the leadership of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira who voiced the problems of the people in the area.

It is understood that most of the longhouses in the area have already received electricity, but five per cent of the longhouses have not received electricity due to relocation for the Pan Borneo Highway Project.
