KUCHING: The 25 pct discount on assessment rates for residential rateable holdings under the Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) jurisdiction will be granted effective Jan 2020 until Dec 31, 2020.
According to DBKU in a press statement released yesterday, the discount under the Sarawakku Sayang Assistance Package (BKSS) only applies to residential, commercial, industrial, special holdings and vacant land holdings.
It said that the initiative would be implemented for those who paid the annual assessment rates for above RM400.01.
Assessment rates below RM400 will remain the same while those who are currently paying RM50 and below will have the assessment rates waived.
For annual assessment rates ranging between RM50.01 and RM100, the reduction will be 90 percent, RM100.01 to RM150 (80 percent), RM150.01 to RM200 (70 percent), RM200.01 to RM250 (60 percent), RM250.01 to RM300 (50 percent), RM300.01 to RM350 (40 percent) and RM350.01 to RM400 (30 percent).
DBKU also stated that if payment had been made on the assessment tax bill first period of 2020, the excess payment would be credited to the last two assessment tax bill in 2020.
“For those who have made full payment for 2020, the excess payment will be credited to 2021,” it added. DBKU also has extended the payment deadlines for the first half of 2020 to October 31, 2020.
