SIMANGGANG: In the spirit of the upcoming Gawai Dayak festival, 250 individuals were blessed with contributions through the Sejambak Kasih programme, ensuring the celebration’s warmth and generosity reach those in need.

Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis said that the programme serves as a social responsibility platform to assist those in need.

“Food baskets are distributed to ease the burden on the Dayak community during this festive season,” he said.

He said this during the Sejambak Kasih Hari Gawai Dayak 2024 programme, organised by Pertubuhan Meninggikan Akhlak Che Chuan Khor Sri Aman on Friday.

The Simanggang assemblyman distributed food baskets containing 10 kilogrammes (kg) of rice and various types of dry food.

Additionally, he approved a Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM20,000 to Pertubuhan Meninggikan Akhlak Che Chuan Khor Sri Aman to support the organisation’s welfare activities for the community.
