MIRI: Police detained a 26 year-old reload card seller from Taman Jelita here for having a total of two kg of Methamphetamine and 800g of ketamine worth a total of RM116,000 in his possession on Wednesday.

Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah who confirmed the arrest, said the man was detained by narcotics police around 1.30pm during an ambush at the suspect’s house.

Lim said the drugs were found inside a parcel delivered to the suspect by courier service earlier prior to the arrest.

“Upon checking the parcel, police found the drugs stuffed inside three thermoses.”

Lim said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had four previous drug related crimes, adding he had tested positive for ketamine.

The suspect is being investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and faces the mandatory death sentence if found guilty.
