MUKAH: Some 260 Politeknik Mukah (PMU) students from B40 families received food under the Food Bank programme here recently.

The food was contributed by YaPEIM 2.0 (Musaadah Khas Siswa) 2020.

YaPEIM community officers Fazli Nasulun, Mohd Fadli Saili and Fadlie Zamuri handed over the contribution at a simple handover ceremony at PMU lobby here.

Head of Student Affairs & Development Department Awang Annuar Awang Mansor, who represented PMU director Dullah Muluk, received on behalf of the students.

The programme was a joint effort by YaPEIM and organised with the assistance of PMU staff Yazid, Zainal and Herman.

The programme was aimed at lessening the burden of students from low income families.

It was also in line with the government’s effort in reducing the impact of the current high cost of living.

Besides, it was also aimed at reducing food wastage among Malaysians, where the surplus could be distributed to the needy.
