28 Covid-19 deaths between Sept 30 and Oct 11

KUCHING: The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) says 28 fatalities due to Covid-19 had been recorded from Sept 30 to Oct 11.

On Sept 30, a 70-year-old woman from Betong passed away at Saratok Hospital. She had a history of high blood pressure, diabetes, dyslipidemia and chronic kidney disease.

Two deaths recorded on Oct 7 were of a 77-year-old man and 87-year-old man, both from Sri Aman, who passed away at Sri Aman Hospital. The first had a history of high blood pressure, diabetes and dyslipidemia while the other had high blood pressure only.

On Oct 8, six deaths were recorded – the first reported was a 79-year-old man from Sarikei. He passed away at Sarikei Hospital and had a history of high blood pressure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and dyslipidemia.

“The second death was a 69-year-old man from Betong who passed away at Sarikei Hospital. He had a history of high blood pressure.

“The third death was a 73-year-old woman from Sarikei, who passed away at Sarikei Hospital. She had a history of high blood pressure, and dyslipidemia.”

SDMC said the fourth death was a 99-year-old woman from Sri Aman with high blood pressure, who passed away at Sri Aman Hospital.

Another death recorded on Oct 3 was that of a 77-year-old man from Betong, who passed away at Sarikei Hospital. He had high blood pressure, diabetes, dyslipidemia and chronic kidney disease.

“The final death recorded on the day was of an 84-year-old man from Bintulu, who passed away at Bintulu Hospital. He had a history of high blood pressure, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.”

SDMC said seven deaths reported on Oct 9 involved the elderly from Miri, Bintulu, Sarikei, and Kuching districts. The death cases were that of two 66-year-old men, both from Miri, who passed away at Miri Hospital.

“Meanwhile, the third and fourth deaths were that of a 78-year-old man from Bintulu and a 68-year-old man from Miri. They both had a history of high blood pressure, diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

“The fifth and sixth deaths recorded on Oct 9 involved a 75-year-old woman from Sarikei, who passed away at Sarikei Hospital, and a 61-year-old woman from Miri, who passed away at Miri Hospital. They both had a history of high blood pressure, diabetes and dyslipidemia.

“The final death recorded on the day was that of a 67-year-old woman from Kuching, who was brought in dead (BID) at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH). She had a history of high blood pressure and diabetes.”

On Oct 10, nine deaths were recorded in which the first was a 77-year-old man from Kuching, who passed away at SGH. He had a history of high blood pressure, diabetes and dyslipidemia.

“The second death was a 86-year-old woman from Kuching, who passed away at Bau Hospital. She had a history of high blood pressure and dyslipidemia while the third death was a 58-year-old man from Kuching. He passed away at SGH and had gout and Parkinson’s.

“The fourth death was a 78-year-old man from Miri, who passed away at Miri Hospital. He had a history of high blood pressure and prostate cancer.

“The fifth death was a 78-year-old man from Kuching, who passed away at SGH. He had a history of high blood pressure and diabetes.”

SDMC said the sixth death was a 58-year-old woman from Kuching with high blood pressure, obesity, and dyslipidemia – she passed away at SGH.

It disclosed that another death recorded on Oct 10 was that of a 76-year-old woman from Bintulu, who passed away at Bintulu Hospital. She had high blood pressure, asthma and heart disease.

“The eighth death registered on the day was that of a 82-year-old man from Serian, who passed away at Serian Hospital. He had a history of high blood pressure and stroke.

“The final death recorded on the day was of an 88-year-old woman from Sibu, who passed away at Sibu Hospital. She had a history of high blood pressure, dyslipidemia and chronic kidney disease.”

SDMC said three deaths were recorded on Oct 11. The first and second death were a 58-year-old man from Sarikei, who passed away at Sarikei Hospital, and a 72-year-old woman from Miri, who passed away at Miri Hospital. Both had a history of high blood pressure and diabetes.

It added that the third death was a 76-year-old woman from Kuching, who passed away at SGH. She had a history of high blood pressure and dyslipidemia.
