KUCHING: The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) yesterday reported 28 new Covid-19 positive cases, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 239 cases since March 13.
From the 28 cases, 25 of them are treated at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) while the other three at Miri hospital.
“A total of 130 persons under investigation (PUI) were recorded, bringing the total of PUI cases to 1,509. From the total, 1,130 cases tested negative for Covid-19 while the remaining 140 cases are pending lab results.
“52 of the PUI are recorded in Kuching where 16 of them are screened at Kompleks Belia dan Sukan (KBS) and 36 cases at SGH,” JBPN said in a statement issued yesterday.
The remaining PUI are recorded in Bau (3), Samarahan (10), Asajaya (1), Serian (19), Betong (27), Sibu (2), Bintulu (4) and Miri (12).
JPBN said compliance of the movement control order (MCO) stands at 95.5 percent and noted that 32 individuals have been arrested for flouting the order.
A total of 44 persons were charged in court on April 2.
