MUKAH: A 29-door longhouse, Rumah Jasin in Ulu Mukah was completely razed in an afternoon fire
yesterday.
A villager from the longhouse who resides in Bintulu, Beji Bana said he was notified through a Facebook posting and phone calls he received from teachers at SK Nanga Arau, Ulu Mukah.
The school is the nearest establishment to the longhouse.
Beji said at the time of the incident only a handful of residents were in the longhouse as most were working at nearby towns.
The cause of the fire and loss of properties have yet to be ascertained. There were also no reports of injuries.
