299 news cases take state total to 247,380

KUCHING: The state registered 299 new daily Covid-19 cases on Sunday (Nov 14), a notable decrease of 100 from Saturday’s 399, with the cumulative cases now at 247,380.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said 292 of the new cases were categories 1 and 2, while seven fell into categories 3, 4 and 5.

“Kuching registered the highest number of transmissions with 90, followed by Miri with 54 and Sibu with 37 cases.

“The rest of the cases were reported in Bintulu (16) Limbang (12) Serian (10) Bau (10), while only single-digit number of cases were reported in Betong, Kapit, Lundu, Samarahan, Tanjung Manis, Daro, Simunjan, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Subis, Saratok, Song, Asajaya, Pusa, Meradong, Kanowit, Belaga, Dalat, Marudi, Bukit Mabong, Beluru, and Lubok Antu,” it said in its daily Covid-19 update on Monday.

SDMC also confirmed that there were six death cases related to Covid-19 infections from November 10 to 13.

“The death cases consist of victims aged 35 to 90 from Sibu, Limbang and Kuching.

“Of the total, five of the victims had comorbidities while one victim had no history of chronic illnesses,” it added.

The committee also announced the end of the Tembok Limbang cluster in Limbang and the Jalan Matang cluster here.

“No new cases were reported in the clusters over the past 28 days. The number of active clusters in the state now stands at 11,” it said.
