KUCHING: The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) Sarawak Chapter returns with the three-day 15th Sarawak Matta Fair 2019 starting yesterday. The fair is open from 10am to 10pm at the Boulevard Shopping Mall here with 73 booths participating. Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the fair is a one-stop centre, therefore it is a good platform for those who wish to bring their families to go on holidays.
“Through this fair, visitors can scrutinise the packages available. At the same time, the tourism industry players will be able to reach out to a bigger audience in just three days,” said Karim during the opening ceremony here yesterday.
Also present at the event were the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry permanent secretary Hii Chang Kee; Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry director Suriya Charles Buas; Matta deputy president Mohd Akil Mohd Yusof; Matta Sarawak chapter chairman Lina Tsen Pei Tsin and Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) chief executive officer Sharzede Salleh Askor.
