SRI AMAN: Three people died while three were critically injured in a collision involving two trucks and a car yesterday afternoon.

According to fire operation commander PBK I Bangga Baie, the Sri Aman fire and rescue station (BBP) received an emergency call on the accident at 2.10pm.

Following the call, a team of firefighters was despatched to the scene at Jalan Selepong Maleh Sri Aman-Betong.

Upon arrival, they found six victims trapped in a Proton Saga vehicle stuck between two trucks.

The firefighters managed to retrieve all the victims from the vehicle.

Dead were the backseat passengers who comprised an elderly person and two children aged four and 12 years old.

The critically injured victims were front seat passengers comprising a couple and a baby.

The evacuation work was assisted by a Naim Gamuda bulldozer which helped to remove a towing truck that was pinning the vehicle.
