KUCHING: Some 30 staff members of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) took part in its annual blood donation campaign held at Dewan Kenyalang of Menara SEDC in Kuching Isthmus here, recently.

The event was organised by the corporation’s Social and Recreation Club (Pedas) in collaboration with the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) blood bank.

SEDC general manager Abdul Hadi Datuk Kadir commended the staff members who took part in the campaign.

“We will continue to encourage our staff members to support similar blood donation campaigns in the near future because they not only save lives but also show that SEDC is also playing its part in such noble initiatives,” he said.

Annually, SEDC and its subsidiary companies participated in various charitable projects as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects.

Apart from the blood donation campaign, they were also actively involved in the annual “Love In the Box Campaign”, “gotong royong” and other community related activities, targeting the less privileged children and members of the society.

“As a responsible Sarawak government agency, SEDC will continue to play its role to uplift the lives of local people and this includes undertaking CSR programmes,” said Abdul Hadi.
