BAU: Police here arrested a woman on suspicion of selling online gambling top-ups at Jalan Jambusan yesterday.

Bau police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the ‘Op Dadu Khas’ arrest was carried out by the district’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) at a premise around 6.30pm.

The suspect’s belongings used to sell online gambling top-ups, were seized.

“The team detained the suspect as she was believed to be involved in online gambling top-up sales activity.

“Inspections led to the finding of online gambling top-up transactions.

“Also seized are the suspect’s phone, a cash book and a sum of cash,” he said.

The 30-year-old suspect who did not have any past record, was taken to the police station along with the seized items.

Poge said the case is being investigated under Section 4(1)(c) of the Common Gaming House Act 1953, which carries for a fine up to RM50,000 or a jail term up to three years, if convicted.
